Customers praised the 100% merino wool shirt as "super soft" and comfortable with excellent odor resistance and temperature regulation. Many noted the USA-made quality and athletic fit. However, sizing runs small for some, with recommendations to size up. Durability concerns include micro-tears near tags. Length varies by preference - some find it perfect while others say it's too long.

  • THE best 'T' I ever owned - most comfortable and NATURAL 'T' ever
  • He loves it, worn 24-7 and true enough it does not smell at all

Product Review: Great Fit, Concerning Durability

Pros:
- Perfect fit and silhouette
- Extremely comfortable material

Cons:
- Prone to micro-tears and "pinholes"
- Fabric seems too delicate near the tags
- High price point given the low durability

I absolutely love the fit of these shirts and the hand-feel of the material is top-tier. However, the long-term quality is becoming a major concern.

I own over a dozen of these, and every single one has developed micro-tears and tiny holes, particularly concentrated near the Wuru tag. In fairness, I do give my shirts a bit of a stretch when putting them on, but I’ve never had this issue with my cotton shirts or any other clothing materials under the same wear and tear.

I’m not sure if this is just the "reality of wool" or if the material is simply too thin for daily use. I like the aesthetic and feel enough to keep buying them for now, but at this price point, the durability is suspect. I’d love to stay loyal to the brand, but if I find another wool shirt with this same fit that can actually hold up, I’ll likely make the switch.

Hi J.F.,

We appreciate you taking the time to provide photos and feedback.

The photos you've attached showcasing tears and holes aren't something we've ever seen before at the level they're showcased.

While 100% Merino fabric is incredibly delicate and requires precise care, this should not be your reality if you've attended to your garments as recommended.

We'd like to open an investigation into what's gone wrong in your case and get these back for inspection and potential subsequent warranty if the cause is found to be a manufacturing error.

Please reach out to us at customerservice@wuruwool.com, and we'll make this right.

Apologies again.

Best of the Best Merino Wool!

I've been wearing merino wool for 10+ years and have tried many brands over the years. I was thrilled to find Wuru making these shirts in the USA. The merino material/weave combination they use is amazing. It's super soft, not at all itchy and doesn't seem to snag as easily as others I've used. The construction is excellent with no loose threads and the fit is also perfect. I always wear medium, and the fit is exactly like I'd expect. Super comfortable, fits great, regulates temperature well and is made in the USA. I can't think of anything that would make it better. As my other brand clothing wears out I will replace them with WURU!

I’d size up

Ordered Large, definitely fits like a medium. Significantly smaller than a large.

(Almost) perfect for a tall guy

I bought these for my husband who is 6’4” with athletic build. They work. Most larges are sized for someone who’s wider not taller….but these shirts are cut right and he says they are Comfortable, Bought 4, he’s worn 2: they fit well, no binding, wash well, good colors, long enough, but he says maybe a slightly longer or drop hem in back to help keep them tucked in for full day on the motorcycle.

So versatile

6’4”, 195lbs. I have been wearing the black XL for the past four days straight with varying levels of layering. Zero odor. It’s mind boggling. I will be ordering more when re-stocked. Great product, awesome company, made in USA.

At long last, a shirt that fits a tall athletic guy perfectly with all the benefits of Merino Wool

I don't think I've ever left a review for clothing before. But, I love the WŪRU Merino Wool shirts so much I felt compelled to do so. The shirts fit perfectly, which is uncommon for me with other shirts since I'm 6'6" with an athletic build. Typically, when I order a shirt that is long enough, it's too baggy or the sleeves don't fit right. But, the WŪRU shirts somehow fit perfectly. I love the natural quick dry and odor resistant Merino Wool too. I don't think I'll be shopping for my active wear t-shirts anyplace else.

Disappointed

The material of the shirt is very thin and slightly shiney. Looks a little cheap. Also the shirt itself is way too long. Looks very baggy and sloppy. Could have a good 4” taken off the length

Very nice

The shirt is soft, comfortable, and well made. I haven't worn it long enough to speak of its durability yet. Sizing could be a problem for some. I have a 40" chest so I ordered the medium. The shirt just fits; if it shrinks any I probably won't be able to wear it. However, the snug fit is what I want because it will be my first layer. But for men between the 40" medium and the 43" large getting a good fit could be difficult. E.g. someone with a 41" chest would probably order a large (if my shirt is an example a medium would not fit) and thus have a very loose fit.

lovely

purchased mainly for bicycle touring. material has good weight, stitching appears solid, and made in the usa. i'm 5'10'', 160 lb, and i like my bicycle clothing a little loose. so i went with the large size, which are fine even after washing. i'm quite happy with these.

Imported

I bought because of the “US made” claim but they fooled me. Imported fabric, sewn in the US.

Hi Brandon,
Thank you for your feedback — I understand your concern and want to be fully transparent. At Wūru Wool Co., we proudly manufacture 100% our apparel in our Salt Lake City, Utah factory. That means all design, cutting, sewing, and finishing is done here by our team.

Our merino wool fabric is sourced from New Zealand and Australia. While we continue to look for comparable US suppliers, unfortunately, the minimum order quantity would require us to buy ~10,000 yards of fabric, which is simply not possible for us as a bootstrapped brand.

That's 10x what we currently purchase at a time. As you can imagine, wool fabric is expensive.

We choose to be clear about this and highlight it throughout our site. While the fiber and fabric are imported, the garments themselves are truly American-made in both craftsmanship and employment impact. Your purchase directly supports US manufacturing jobs, fair wages, and small-batch quality control.

We appreciate you holding brands to high standards and supporting American manufacturing. We continue to look for opportunities to improve and enhance our operations while running a sustainable business.

THE best 'T' I ever owned

Cotton doesn't hold a candle to it. NO blends or synthetics (plastics) comes close. This is HANDS DOWN, the most comfortable and NATURAL 'T' ever.

Great quality

Wuru t-shirts are great quality. I tried another brand and the quality was poor, it immediately ran, the manufacturer replaced for me it and it ran again after a few wears. I then bought two Wuru t-shirts. The quality is great, they hold up very well. I was so impressed with them I bought another two t-shirts. I wish they were in stock more often, I'm still waiting for the grey one to come back in stock. I love that they are made here in the US. Also for the medium size that I ordered they seem to run long, longer than the competitor's shirt mentioned above and longer than my t-shirts from Fresh Clean Threads. I will be wearing my WuRu t-shirts on a multi week hike soon, I hope they hold up well.
