I bought these socks for my sister, who is training for half marathons. The wool keeps her feet warm, even when running through mud and some slushy snow. However, she is not currently using them as our morning temps are in the upper teens to low twenties F. She is wearing the quarter crew version now so her ankles and lower legs are covered. The size and style are very comfortable, but she states they fit and feel better after washing them once. She plans to wear the low cut style in the spring when temperatures are at or above freezing.
I bought these socks to give to my sister who runs half marathons and trains almost daily in all kinds of weather all year long. The weight, wool, and height of the socks keep her feet, ankles and lower legs covered and warm during her runs. She loves them! The color goes with all of her running gear and does not look dirty, even when she has run through slush or mud. These socks are perfect for the late fall, winter and early spring months here in Pennsylvania.
These socks are all day comfortable, soft and warm. Looking forward to years of wear.
I've tried quite a few different brands with a variety of materials and these are definitely part of my top 2. Lots of padding and support to keep the sock in place and right where it needs to be. I recommended this pair to my brother who also hikes and hunts.
Those Kiwis know how to make socks. I've worn all of the other major brands, and these are simply the best!
