from 859 reviewsWuru lightweight hoodie + Nuyarn Tech Baselayer pant 7/8 (13.2 oz). That's impressive because of all the companies I demo'd, Wuru was the 3rd lightest for ultra light backpacking, and coming in under less than a pound for a shirt and pants is an impressive technical achievement.
Wuru’s claim to fame is that it is the only manufacturer out of Brynje, Icebreaker, Minus 33, Ridge Merino, Paka to be produced in the United States. In addition, Wuru takes an impressive stand against animal cruelty. They prioritize animal welfare by abstaining from a common industry practice called mulesing, which involves removing skin around a lamb’s tail to prevent flu strike, flies laying larvae that infest the sheep.
I'm on the petite side ( under 5 ), I got the medium for loose fit and love it. I'm always hot given the age and having this shirts helped a lot. I got all the colors except purple. Its breaking my bank but comfort is my priority at this time of my life.
My husband loves it, its his long weekend shirt 24-7 and true enough it does not smell at all. I got him the navy, hunter green and black. Waiting for gray color. Medium fits for his 5'5" .
Thus shirt has become my new favorite. Very comfortable, fits just right, and looks good on me.
The feel and quality of this base layer is so great! I got this in the merlot and it's a beautiful rich color. I usually wear a medium top but with wool clothing, I find sizing up to a large works out for me. I loved this so much I went back and bought another top!
Loved the shirt, good fit, great feel, great color
Really like Wuru's Nuyarn lightweight hoodie! Put it to the test wearing it almost every day for five weeks on the trail. Temps were 40s to 70s and it always felt comfortable hiking. I washed and rinsed it along the way but never noticed it smelling. Looked great every day -- and still does. I also love the Moss Green color.
I'm 6' 170# and the large is a tiny bit looser and longer in the arms than I like, but comfortable and allows room underneath for a base layer. (I dont' know if the long sleeve tech shirt base layer is sized the same, but I found that a medium in the base layer was OK, but a little tighter than I would want in a top layer like the hoodie, so I was probably better off getting the large hoodie.)
If you're trying to pack light and just use this one shirt, I found it handled almost any condition well, but I still wanted a jacket in cold winds and maybe a base layer if standing around in cold weather. Also, a light wool beanie or balaclava is nice under it in cold weather because the hood is pretty loose and doesn't add much warmth, which is as it should be for a sun hoodie. For full sun protection during the middle of the day I also added either a visor or a trail umbrella, because a hood can't provide full face coverage.
Soft and warm at same time. Not itchy either
Feels amazing, fits perfectly, and is comfortable. Used to be a daily driver of minus33, and arcteryx but I think this is going to be my new daily driver, so I've just ordered three more.
Nice and comfy with all the benefits of wool. I love that they are manufactured in the States too! The horizontal fly is different but neat. I'm 6" and typically wear a 36" size pant. In addition, I lift often and never skip leg day. If you have gifted legs or work on your physique frequently, I recommend sizing up. Otherwise they probably fit true to average sizes.
I've had one of the short sleeve tees for a while and like it for everyday wear. I wanted to get a long sleeve to try to wear while mountain biking. I prefer the long sleeves to keep some sun off my arms. It is tough to find long sleeve shirts that aren't too hot to bike in. I've got one ride in my new wuru long-sleeve and it felt great. Plenty of airflow through the fabric. It is soft and the sleeves are long enough to keep my wrists covered. It is a little more of a snug fit than I normally pick for riding in but I wouldn't call it overly tight.
I think my main concern is durability if I were to crash and slide on the material. I will do my best to avoid that test as long as possible as these shirts are quite expensive.
Hopefully I'll be able to add a few more of these shirts to my collection over time.
My husband loves his new v-neck. He got the crew, which he loves, but he says he love the v-neck even more! Love that Wuru makes everything in the USA!
My husband loves his new wool short sleeve shirt and says that this is the only shirt he wants to wear from now on!
I’ve just bought my third Nuyarn Zip-up. They’ve kept me warm during 2 trips to Iceland—one winter and one summer. They are also great when the weather turns cold and damp at the beach. I would recommend sizing up if you prefer not to wear form fitting clothing.
Top notch fitting and stitching, this is the second shirt I’ve gotten.
This one leans into the soft side of merino.
